Perpetual Birthday Calendar

OK. So, today Kieran choked on a piece of cucumber at lunch. Luckily, years and years (read: nearly every year of my life since fifth grade) of CPR and First Aid training for summer camp, lifeguarding, babysitting, preschool teaching, and after school care came to my rescue. I leaned him over the tray of his high chair, gave a few back blows and out it popped. Next, came a very upset toddler and mother. But, he calmed down, went back to the high chair and finished lunch, sans cucumber. I, however, did not feel calm. With the adrenaline leaving my body I felt scared. I quickly called Nathan and asked him to come home early. Being the amazing husband he is, he didn't question, but did just what I asked *swoon*. With Nathan home, I was able to calm down much more easily. Once Kieran was down for a nap, I was feeling much better, still shaken, but much better. So I decided to try this crafty project to help distract myself.
I had recently been thinking that I needed something at my crafty space to help me remember upcoming birthdays. I googled "perpetual birthday calendar craft" and found this adorable project from a blog called eighteen25. They even had the pages to download free! I printed the pages out on cardstock and trimmed them up with my paper trimmer. I alternated between sage scallop strips and buttercup scallop strips at the bottom of the pages. The decor in our craft/guest room is blue, yellow, and green. So this little calendar will look perfect in it!

September Calendar Page

Well another one of the things I kept forgetting to post about have been my calendar pages!  Now, some of them I like better than others, but I enjoyed this one.  (I'll try and catch up on the others that I didn't get to as well).  The leaves here in Seattle aren't changing colors yet, and in fact yesterday had a high of 87, which is really warm for here.  But this morning is nice and cool and hopefully fall really is on it's way now.

In like a lion

I can't believe it's March 1st!   We definitely have weather here in Seattle and throughout the state of Washington that is acting lion-like.  It's rainy and cold here, and there is TONS of snow in the mountains.  Normally, I would find this thrilling.  It's really good to have that snow pack up high so there is lots of water throughout the summer.  But, my due date is Saturday and I really don't want the pass to close so that my mom is unable to get to me whenever I do go into labor!  But, what will be will be.  Here's my calendar page for March:

February Calendar Page

I meant to post this on the 1st of the month, but it slipped past me.  I can't believe it's already February.  This means I have a little over a month till my due date of March 5th!  January flew by at our house, especially because I lost track of time later on in the month because I was in the hospital with a food borne illness!  YUCK!  It was not fun AT ALL.  I was sick for a about a week, severely sick for another week (this is where I spent a few days in the hospital), and then at least another week trying to recover once we finally got a diagnoses and some antibiotics.  Luckily, this particular bacteria is one that does not cross the placenta, so the baby was fine the whole time.  Also, I got to stay in the Labor and Delivery ward of the hospital.  This was a lot nicer than the other units and felt like practice for the real thing, I even had contractions (lucky me).

January Calendar Page

It's hard to believe it's already January.  This year is the first year I've made any sort of calendar project.  I made two copies of this calendar, one for my mom and one for my mother in law.  I put them in their stockings at Christmas.  The blank calendar itself came from A Muse as part of their annual charity calendar project.  They had the option of buying a download or a single hard copy in the store that came with a stand.  This time, since it was my first, I went for the pre-printed option.  Though, I think next year I might try the download....we'll see.
