Summer No. 4

Happy Monday!  Today I have this lovely subtly colored floral thank you card.  I colored the floral images with extremely pale Copic markers.  I wanted to give it a light soft look that would allow the layers with the sentiment to really pop!

Supplies
Stamps: A Muse Summer Blooms and Today and Always
Ink: VersaFine onyx black and A Muse black dye ink (retired)
Paper: A Muse sugar, hibiscus, and bubblegum petite gingham cardstock

Summer No. 2

Hello again!  Today I've got another thank you card to share.  I really enjoyed how this one came out. First I stamped the flourish frame on the front of the card.  Then, using my Silhouette Cameo 3 and a PixScan mat, I had it cut out a window interior to the flourish frame.  I added the sentiment banner across is, which I colored with some Copic markers to give it a little more dimension and visual interest.  Lastly, I sponged the interior of the card where the flourish window was and stamped the inside sentiment to line up just right with the banner sentiment on the front so that when the card is closed, it's hidden!  Love it!

Supplies
Stamps: A Muse banner sentiments and graceful greetings
Ink: A Muse melon and mermaid and VersaFine onyx black
Paper: A Muse bubblegum petite gingham and sugar cardstock
Misc.: sponge daubers, A Muse be brave die set, Silhouette Cameo 3 and PixScan mat, A Muse toffee twine, Copic markers, and foam mounting tape

July Release Day!!

It's here!  Release day!!  You can check out the full details of the July release here at the A Muse Studio Blog!  And if you check out their Instagram, you can learn how to get the "Dear Friends" set for free!

Today's card is all about flowers.  I stamped, embossed, and die cut several flowers from the "Summer Blooms" set.  I wanted to pop the entire wreath up with foam mounting tape.  So, I had to make a circle out of scrap cardstock and circle dies as a base that I attached the flowers to.  That way, it all became one piece that was easy to pop up.

Supplies
Stamps: A Muse Summer Blooms and Banner Sentiments
Ink: A Muse mermaid and hibiscus
Paper: A Muse melon, cotton candy, hibiscus, sugar, and mermaid petite pinstripe cardstock
Misc.: A Muse Summer blooms and Be Brave die sets, A Muse bubblegum stitched grosgrain ribbon, foam mounting tape, Copic markers, A Muse satin pearl embossing powder

a•muse | studio July Sneak Peak Day 3

Day 3 here we go!  Today, I get to introduce you to an awesome new trio of paper tape!  You might remember the super cute paper tape duo from last month, in the yellow stripes and blue dots.  Well, this month we have 3 more to add!  Grey with little white dots, pink with little white dots and green and white diagonals.  I have to say, I think it's really fun to use all five together, as I did here with this card.  They are just so cheerful!  And made this little thank you card quick and easy to whip up.

a•muse | studio July Sneak Peak Day 1

It's that time again!  A Muse Studio sneak peaks for the July collection!  Even here at the beach on vacation, I want to make sure you get a look at what's coming up.  Today, I get to give you a taste of a new stamp set (also with matching dies of course!) called Summer Blooms!  It's got quite a few floral images, both solid and outline, and this great hand brushed looking "Thank you" sentiment.  I used both types of floral images together here.  I think the variety is more visually interesting.  I used a sponge dauber on the inside of the card to make a soft circle of mermaid color for the sentiment to be on.

There's more sneak peaks to check out today on the A Muse Studio blog here along with a giveaway for a change to win this gorgeous new set!

Also check out my fellow Design Team members to see what they have to show you for Day 1 of sneak peaks!

Kieran's Baptism

In starting to blog again, I've done some work on my blog's layout. I also added labels to all previous posts. As I was going back through my posts, I discovered many drafts of posts I started (during the September through now period where I didn't blog at all) but never finished. Here is the first of them that I have now finished and am ready to publish for you all. This one has two of the things I made for Kieran's baptism. First, there is one of the cute little pillow boxes that had thank you gifts for Kieran's godparents in them and the second is one of the three identical thank you cards I made for the godparents and our pastor. We had a big brunch at our house afterwards and I made TONS of decorations for that in the same color scheme (which also happens to match the birth announcements that I also haven't gotten around to posting) but I don't have pictures of them. I had put my dad in charge of taking pictures of them for me, and he did. But then later on managed to delete all the pictures off his camera. Boo!

And here we all are! Myself, Nathan, godfather David, godmomma Cat and Fr. Cleaveland, and Kieran of course! This was in mid-August, I can't even remember, thank goodness, what it was like to have a baby that young.

Thank You 2 of 2

Here's the second thank you card I made for the baby shower.  Looking at it now, I think I would have done better to put the sentiment in the upper right area instead of lower left and use fewer twinkles stickers under it, but oh well.  Live and learn.

Paper: A Muse sugar, blush, and sage cardstock
Inks: A Muse bubblegum, sage, and blush and VersaFine vintage sepia

Thank You 1 of 2

In May, my aunt and cousin, on my mom's side, hosted a family baby shower for Kieran and myself.  It was lots of to see all the family.  My mom's family has a HUGE amount of female relatives and we love getting together for weddings, showers, etc and this one was no exception!  Delicious food and fun times (along with LOTS of great gifts!)  This is the card I made to thank my aunt for the shower.  Once again, I need to work on my photos because you can barely see some aspects of it, like the watermark background, and the whole thing just looks a little washed out, when in actuality the card was pretty vibrant.  The inside says "merci bouquet".
Supplies
Stamps: A Muse Studio harlequin background and ooh la la! set
Paper: A Muse Studio sugar, blush, blueberry and buttercup petite gingham cardstock
Inks: A Muse black dye and blush ink, VersaFine black onyx, VersaMark Dazzle champagne
Misc.: foam mounting tape, bluebell Waste Not Ribbon, EK Success open scallop edge punch, Copic markers, sponge dauber, Making Memories Slice Elite and Noteworthy Design card

Appreciation

In all that's been going on with Ginny, I had to take several days off of work.  My co-worker Megan is filling in for my classes while I'm gone.  I know how much extra work and stress this means for her.  So, I wanted to make a card to thank her.  I plan on getting some nice coffee from her favorite coffee shop, Java Bean, to go with this.  (I would bake her something sweet, but she doesn't really have a sweet tooth!!  CRAZY).  The inside says "Thanks for all you do".  Luckily, Ginny has been doing lots of napping, in a healthy normal way, so I was able to make this fairly uninterrupted.
Supplies:
Stamps: A Muse "Flowers whisper", "Thanks for all you do", Queen Anne's lace, Scroll border, and Jasmine silhouette
Paper: A Muse natural white card stock and Moss square note card
Other: VersaMagic Aloe Vera, Eggplant, Jumbo Java, and Purple Hydrangea ink, Brilliance Pearlescent Beige ink, Making Memories Slice w/Noteworthy Design card, and mounting tape
