Summer No. 2

Hello again!  Today I've got another thank you card to share.  I really enjoyed how this one came out. First I stamped the flourish frame on the front of the card.  Then, using my Silhouette Cameo 3 and a PixScan mat, I had it cut out a window interior to the flourish frame.  I added the sentiment banner across is, which I colored with some Copic markers to give it a little more dimension and visual interest.  Lastly, I sponged the interior of the card where the flourish window was and stamped the inside sentiment to line up just right with the banner sentiment on the front so that when the card is closed, it's hidden!  Love it!

Summer No. 1

Being so far behind on my blogging means I have lots of great cards ready to show you!  Summer seems to be reasserting itself here in the PNW and we're going to have a pretty warm week this week and next.  So, today's card uses some pretty florals and a great sentiment banner!

September Release Day!!

Today's card is another Thanksgiving one.  I'm a sucker for any type of fall leaves.  This one has yellow, green, and orange leaves on the brown background and then just yellow ones on the yellow tag for a tone on tone look.

a•muse | studio September Sneak Peak Day 1

Hello everyone and welcome to the first day of September sneak peaks for A Muse Studio!  I'be been a bit absent of late due to a massive amount of summer travel.  One thing after another after another after another.  One day we even had a 1 hour turn around to get home and repack and go off for another trip.  It's not generally how we roll, but sometimes important things in life happen close together.  Things have *almost* calmed back down now (not quite as I'm currently posting from yet another trip and struggling to make Blogger format things the way I want with only an iPad to post with). But soon.  I can sense it.

But, here I am and VERY excited to share what A Muse has in store for September.  Fall and winter are my very favorite seasons.  They have my favorite weather, beautiful leaves, the yummiest food,  snow, the best holidays, and of course my birthday!  Really it's September through December that I love most!  And I feel the same way about craftying this time of year!  Today, I get to show you a peak of a great new stamp set called "Hello Pumpkin".  You can use it for generic fall themes, Halloween, or Thanksgiving!  Here's the first card I made with it.

a•muse | studio August Sneak Peak Day 3

Welcome to Day 3!  Taking a step away from florals, today's featured, "You're Cool", set is a cute little ice cream one.  I LOVE ice cream and nothing says summer quite like it.

For this little card, I use a clear glaze on each of the swirls of ice cream.  Though sadly, it didn't show up very well in the photographs.  Just take it from me that it looks super neat in person!

a•muse | studio August Sneak Peak Day 2

Welcome to day 2 of August sneak peaks!  Today's card feature a new stamp and matching die set called "Bouquet Builder".  It had 12 different floral images and 3 sentiments!  Just like "Southern Bouquet", they are SO fun to color.  For this card, I first white heat embossed a bunch of the images and then water colored them.  Next, I die cut each image and layered them together to create a gorgeous bouquet!  I'm REALLY happy with the result!

a•muse | studio August Sneak Peak Day 1

It's that time again!  Sneak peaks for the August release are starting!  Today, I have a card using the gorgeous new "Southern Bouquet" set!  It's a simply lovely large bouquet image that just begs to be colored in any sort of medium.  I used Tombow Dual Tip Markers on the backside of the image that I gold heat embossed and then layered over a piece of white cardstock.  SO PRETTY!

July Release Day!!

It's here!  Release day!!  You can check out the full details of the July release here at the A Muse Studio Blog!  And if you check out their Instagram, you can learn how to get the "Dear Friends" set for free!

Today's card is all about flowers.  I stamped, embossed, and die cut several flowers from the "Summer Blooms" set.  I wanted to pop the entire wreath up with foam mounting tape.  So, I had to make a circle out of scrap cardstock and circle dies as a base that I attached the flowers to.  That way, it all became one piece that was easy to pop up.

Day 3 here we go!  Today, I get to introduce you to an awesome new trio of paper tape!  You might remember the super cute paper tape duo from last month, in the yellow stripes and blue dots.  Well, this month we have 3 more to add!  Grey with little white dots, pink with little white dots and green and white diagonals.  I have to say, I think it's really fun to use all five together, as I did here with this card.  They are just so cheerful!  And made this little thank you card quick and easy to whip up.

Welcome to Day 2 of Sneak Peaks!  Today, I have a really fun new set to preview for you!  "Banner Sentiments" It's got a TON of sentiments in three different banner shapes.  Straight, curved, and a flowered emblem!  Also, do you remember the "Be Brave" stamp set?  IT WORKS WITH THAT!  AND IT'S DIES!  Seriously genius.  I LOVE it when sets work together like this and expand the possibilities for each one.

a•muse | studio July Sneak Peak Day 1

It's that time again!  A Muse Studio sneak peaks for the July collection!  Even here at the beach on vacation, I want to make sure you get a look at what's coming up.  Today, I get to give you a taste of a new stamp set (also with matching dies of course!) called Summer Blooms!  It's got quite a few floral images, both solid and outline, and this great hand brushed looking "Thank you" sentiment.  I used both types of floral images together here.  I think the variety is more visually interesting.  I used a sponge dauber on the inside of the card to make a soft circle of mermaid color for the sentiment to be on.

June No. 6

We made it to the beach!  Every year, our family takes a week long trip to the Washington state coast.  It's gorgeous here.  Windswept evergreen trees, unspoiled sandy beaches, beautiful sunsets, amazing storms, and the vast Pacific Ocean.  We arrived yesterday in a very thoroughly packed Outback with stuffed cargo box on top and 3 bikes on the back!  I think our kitchen sink is about the only thing we left behind in Seattle.

In honor of our current location, I have my last ocean/nautical card to share today!  It's actually one of my very favorites I made this past month.  I love turning the scallop pattered cardstock upside down.  I think it looks both more like waves but also could be fish scales too! I wrapped a LOT of vanilla twine around the card base.  I was going for a battered sun bleached fishing net sort of look.  To make the color gradiented ocean background, I used several different colors of Splash! spray inks.  I did a few squirts of each with the darkest color at the bottom and lightest at the top and then swirled it around with a paper towel.  Though I did stamp and white emboss all the images first, and they resisted the spray ink well and after being wiped off with the paper towel, they were still bright white.

June No. 5

We are deep into packing for a week long beach trip today at our house!  SO many bags, piles of stuff, lists, and so forth.  I think we might be taking everything we own.  But, I'm taking a break to share this cute little whale favor with you.  It's pretty straightforward.  Cute whale, pinking scallop print circle, some foam tape, and scalloped edges of the bag.  This little bags are great and could hold anything really!
