Fantastic Father's Day No. 1

I had another stamp class this past Saturday!  It was great fun and I loved getting to see some of my stamping ladies!  Once again, I forgot to take pictures of us actually stamping.  Oh well, maybe one of the days I'll remember.

The first card from class is this cute apron card!  I'm SO happy with it!  I just love the cheerful colors and it just makes me smile!  I started with a large white stitched rectangle and stamped a grid background on in.   I stuck that onto a slightly larger yellow piece, and then stuck both of those to the red hexagon card base.  For the apron, I wanted it to have the stripes from the pinstripe paper, but I didn't want to see stripes around the edges where the apron strings are.  So, to achieve this I stamped it twice.  Once on plain white and once on pinstripe paper.  The apron on the pinstripe is the one I colored.  I also made a slit along the top of the apron pocket so I could stick in the spatula.  Then, I put the striped apron w/spatula directly on top of the plain white apron!  Viola!  No stripes where I didn't want them!  I put the entire apron piece onto the stamped grid with foam mounting tape.  I did the sentiment onto red pinstripe paper, added the onyx brads and used foam mounting tape for that too.  SO thrilled with it!
