Cauldrons, Cobwebs, and Coffins No. 6

Here's my very last project from the Cauldrons, Cobwebs, and Coffins class!  I really love how this turned out.  The orange glitter on the pumpkin is so beautifully intense, and the yellow cardstock for the Jack o' Lantern face really makes it look like it's glowing!  Which of course goes perfectly with glowsticks!  And, the sentiment is so fitting.  My son thought these were really cool, I think I may need to make some more as Halloween favors for his class!

Ink: VersaFine onyx black
Paper: A Muse onyx, orange, saffron, and melon reverse dot cardstock

Cauldrons, Cobwebs, and Coffins No. 4

Wow, life has been SO busy lately!  With my son in Kindergarten, I've gotten to go back to work part time!  I am SO lucky to have gotten a job with Froggy Holler Outdoor School!  Assisting an AMAZING lead teacher and hiking in the woods with some super fun kiddos!  It's been tricky figuring out our family life schedule with so many big changes.  But, we are starting to find our groove.   But, I'm a little behind on blogging!

Trying to catch back up, here's the 4th project from my Halloween class waaaaay back in August!  My favorite part of this one was getting to make the lime green sparkly stockings!  I also used a black Wink of Stella glitter pen to make the black stripes a bit sparkly too.  As well as coloring alternating segments of the spiderweb with a clear Wink of Stella.

Stamps: A Muse Creep It Real
Ink: VersaFine onyx black
Paper: A Muse sugar, lime, seattle petite pinstripe, seattle, and onyx petite dot cardstock

Cauldrons, Cobwebs, and Coffins No. 3

Today was my little guy's first day of Kindergarten!  Hard to believe we've made it to Elementary School!  Don't get me wrong, I'm not the teary type of nostalgic mom wondering where my baby went.  Just not in my DNA, for example I didn't cry at my wedding.  I'm still amazed at the how fast (and slow) the time as gone by.  But, I'm nothing but proud of my little man, excited to see all that he can do and learn this year, and let's be honest, thrilled about full day school!

Anyways, here's the third project from my August class!  I saw this card on Pinterest and loved it SO much I had to make something similar.  It was just adorable.  My husband saw it and immediately commented that the ghosts look like Pac-Man.

End of the summer life has been so busy lately, it's been tough to find time to blog about my August class!  Here's the treat box we did using the FANTASTIC new Creepy Coffin treat box die!  Seriously, it's to die for...hahahah.  See what I did there?  Anyways, this die is great and makes a pretty good sized little box that could hold any number of types of treats.

Cauldrons, Cobwebs, and Coffins No. 1

This past Thursday was a GREAT Halloween themed class, thanks in large part to the fantastic August Collection from A Muse Studio.  Seriously, this is one great collection.  It's possible I *had* to order it all.  Anyways, this card features the "You're Legendary" set.  Gotta love the headless horseman.  And it looks great with the Sleep Hollow cardstock.  I didn't quite card for the moon stamped on vellum in wheat, so I tried it in saffron.  That didn't strike me either, so then I layered one over the other and BAM!  Just right!  I'm very Goldilocks about stamping.

Supplies
Stamps: A Muse haunted mansion background, you're legendary, and harvest moon sets
Ink: A Muse saffron, white, pumpkin, and heather and VersaFine onyx black
Paper: A Muse blackberry, saffron, wheat, vanilla, and sleepy hollow cardstock and Martha Stewart Crafts vellum

Bees and Berries No. 6

Alright, last but not least I have this gorgeous royal bee card.  It's the first one I designed for the class and definitely my absolute favorite.  I based it off a little favor package I made for my mom for Mother's Day since I gave her a sterling silver apiary charm and some beautiful deep green ribbon with gold bees on it.  (I'll blog that next!)  To me, it's just so pretty.  I made sure to use my clear Wink of Stella pen to make the wings sparkle just a smidge.

Supplies
Stamps: A Muse bee happy and hexagon background sets
Ink: A Muse pebble and fern, Delicata Golden Glitz, and VersaFine onyx black
Paper: A Muse sugar, kraft, and papaya cardstock
Misc.: A Muse vanilla twine, foam mounting tape, Wink of Stella clear glitter pen, A Muse label and bee happy die sets

Bees and Berries No. 5

Back when I did this spring border mini popcorn box I discovered that a tealight fits PERFECTLY inside the mini popcorn box from A Muse Studio!!  I felt this was a genius discovery!  I thought that a little beeswax tealight, from my favorite local candle company Big Dipper Wax Works, would make an adorable little favor for when I did my bee themed class!  So here it is!

Ink: A Muse cherry, buttercup, and black dye
Paper: A Muse papaya petite dot, sugar, and seattle petite pinstripe

Bees and Berries No. 4

Bees and Berries No. 3

I love the red, white and yellow color combo.  Besides berries and bees, it reminds me of picnic things, barns at the fair, BBQs and all those wonderfully iconic summer things.  For this card, I dug out some of my retired gingham paper.  The red just screams summer.  I hope this paper comes back some day to A Muse's current catalog because years later, I still LOVE it.

Supplies
Stamps: A Muse Sweet Summertime, Berry Patch, and Bee Happy sets
Ink: A Muse papaya and cherry and VersaFine onyx black
Paper: A Muse cherry petite gingham, papaya petite dot, and papaya petite pinstripe

Bees and Berries No. 2

Here's a sweet little candy favor, using the old classic Bit O' Honey candy!  Yes, they still make them!  Pretty straight forward, though I stamped the hive image (from a retired A Muse Art Stamps wood mounted stamp) twice.  Once on plain white and once on the stitched circle of petite pinstripe, and fussy cut out the one from plain white and adhered it directly over the pinstripe one.  This way, I get the great background of pinstripes, bru the hive itself is clear of them.

Supplies
Stamps: A Muse bee happy and hive stamps/sets
Ink: A Muse black dye and VersaFine onyx black
Paper: A Muse sugar, papaya, apple hexagon, and papaya petite pinstripe cardstock
Misc.: A Muse stitched circles and candy package 2 dies, A Muse onyx baker's twine, foam mounting tape, Copic markers, hole punch, and detail scissors

Bees and Berries No. 1

I've been wanted to do a class with a bee theme for a long time.  I love bee imagery.  Pretty sure this came from my mom, who also loves them.  Either way, it was really fun to work up the samples for this month's class.  I also really enjoyed incorporating some of the sweet strawberry themed stamps with the bees, since you can't get berries without bees!

This first card uses a the great "Berry Patch" stamp, which is HUGE!  I think the white embossing on kraft and then colored with Copics looks so soft and pretty.

The July Collection is still available till the end of the month!  Check it out here!

Ink: A Muse sage and cherry and VersaFine
Paper: A Muse kraft, sugar, and cherry petite pinstripe cardstock

Tantalizing Tropicals No. 6

Here's the final project from Tantalizing Tropicals.  It might be my favorite one, though it's hard to pick since the June Collection was SO amazing!  I'm really glad the entire thing has been added to the main stamps and dies catalog!  Once again for this one, I used the Shine Bright die!  That little diamond shape is SO versatile.  This time, it's sneakily hidden as the sleeves of the shirt.  I used a portion of a stitched tag from the "Gift Tag Trio" die set.  It was a pretty quick card to do, just a lot of flora elements in lots of colors.  But, the final result is just so eye catching!  Typically for stamp classes, I don't do a sentiment on the inside, but the Dr. Seuss quote just seemed so appropriate for such a stand out looking Hawaiian shirt.

Supplies
Stamps: A Muse Be yourself set
Ink: A Muse bubblegum, ocean, lime, sky, and margarita
Paper: A Muse vanilla cardstock
Misc.: A Muse shine bright and gift tag trio die sets, A Muse vanilla buttons

Tantalizing Tropicals No. 5

Here's the non-card project from the tropicals class.  I had this idea to try and make a three dimension pineapple something.  I looked at the Shine Bright die from A Muse Studio, which I previously used for the super hero pillow box, and just thought it really could look like the scales of a pineapple!  So, I die cut a TON of them out and curled them on a wooden dowel just like the scallops from this card.  It gave them a lot more depth and texture once I attached them to popcorn box.  By overlapping the diamond die cuts, it also made them look less like a bunch of diamonds and more like the natural texture of a pineapple!  I used leaf die cuts and a paper straw to make the top knot of leaves.  The tag with sentiment is actually a candy wrapper die cut!  I love how it turned out, it really matched the image I had in my head.

Supplies
Stamps: A Muse pineapple of my eye set
Ink: A Muse Wasabi
Paper: A Muse lemonwhip, grass, wasabi hexagon, and wasabi petite pinstripe cardstock
Misc.: A Muse vanilla twine, cello bags, A Muse short popcorn box, shine bright, candy wrapper, flowers 1, and tag bundle (eyelet) die sets, yellow striped paper straws

Tantalizing Tropicals No. 4

For this card, I was inspired by this card.  I love the curled scallops, it gives such a cool texture.  It also seemed to go really well with the pineapples since real ones have such a textured surface.  To get the paper to curl, I wrapped each scalloped strip around a wooden down and then only adhered the tops of the strips to the card.  This leaves the scalloped bottoms loose to curl upwards.  I'm really happy with how dramatic it looks!

Supplies
Stamps: A Muse pineapple of my eye set
Ink: A Muse lemon whip and wasabi
Paper: A Muse sugar, wasabi, margherita, lemonwhip, and hexagon wasabi cardstock
Misc.: A Muse large scallop edge die, foam mounting tape, A Muse library card catalog die

Tantalizing Tropicals No. 3

Well, darn if it isn't hard to blog while on vacation without wifi!  It's even harder when you spend nearly that entire vacation sick!  Can you believe it?  We went on our annual trip with our group of college friends and I spent almost all of it sick with and ear infection!  We've been home since Sunday, and it's still not gone all the way.  Worst luck ever!

Oh well, on with real life I guess.  It's halfway through July, so I better finish up blogging about June's class!  Here's the third card from June.  I discovered that the long and narrow candy wrapper die and the library card catalog die were the same length!  So, from there I came up with this ombre design.  I die cut each of the color of pieces and mounted them to a piece of scratch cardstock behind them so that I could stamp the large hibiscus border just once as if the entire thing were a single piece of paper.  It also made it a lot easier to pop up on foam mounting tape.  I made sure to staple the loop of twine on BEFORE putting on the mounting tape.  Or rather, I did the second time round.  Whoops!

Supplies
Stamps: A Muse hibiscus border and pineapple of my eye sets
Ink: VersaMark and VersaFine black onyx
Paper: A Muse kraft, bermuda petite stripe, sky, bermuda, and mermaid cardstock
Misc.: A Muse white embossing powder, A Muse vanilla twine, Tim Holtz tiny attacher stapler, foam mounting tape, A Muse tag bundle, candy wrapper, and pinking circles, library card catalog die sets
