a•muse | studio May Sneak Peak Day 3

Last day of sneak peaks!!  Don't forget to check out the A Muse Studio blog and leave a comment for a giveaway!  Click here

Today I have this fun birthday card to share with you!  I used the Stitched Window die set from the A Muse Studio blog yesterday and this GREAT new birthday set called "Time to Party"  It has this great birthday cake stamp, several fun sentiments, and three adorable "party animals"  (hahaha see what I did there?).

To make this card, I die cut a window on the front of the card base and stamped the sunburst from the new "You are my Sunshine" set.  Then, on a piece of patterned paper, I die cut the same window, but I took the negative pinking circle the die created and aligned it on the inside of the card to match up with the window on the front!

Stamps: A Muse You are my Sunshine and Time to Party
Ink: A Muse apple and black dye (retired) and VersaMark
Paper: A Muse sugar, habanero, and cotton candy herringbone cardstock
Misc.: Copic markers, foam mounting tape, A Muse white embossing powder, and A Muse stitched circle windows and Time to Party die sets

a•muse | studio May Sneak Peak Day 2

For our second day of sneak peaks I have this card!  I used the new "Vintage Florals" set from yesterday AND the new "You are my Sunshine" set for the large letter brushed sentiment!  I thought this would be just PERFECT for Mother's Day.  Gorgeous blooms AND focusing on Mother's Day being a day for moms, not just about them!

When I was a kid,  I NEVER understood why my mom always said what she wanted for Mother's Day was time.  Boy do I get that now!  What do I want for Mother's Day?  Time to myself, to do things that make me happy.  I do not want breakfast in bed made by/brought to me by my kid, I do not want to go to a lunch at my child's school (yet another obligation for already busy moms!). I want a day that is MINE!  *gets off soap box*

What would you do with a day that is just yours?  Crafting is always top of my list!  Though this year I'm also adding going to a lovely afternoon tea with a couple other beloved mom friends of mine!

Stamps: A Muse vintage florals and you are my sunshine
Ink: A Muse apple and VersaMark
Paper: A Muse sugar, navy petite dot, apple, and winter sky cardstock and vellum
Misc.: A Muse stitched circles, vintage florals, and tag bundle die sets, foam mounting tape, A Muse white embossing powder and Sakura Quickie glue pen

Easter No. 6

It's nearly here!  I was at the store this morning getting the lamb for our Easter dinner, along with lots of other preparatory items.  Though, I no longer make hot cross buns from scratch the way my grandmother always did.  (But, homemade huckleberry pie is most definitely on our Easter menu!)  Our fridge is comically packed with all sorts of goodies.  My son is getting very excited for lots of family visiting our house and hunting down some eggs.  Even if, living in Seattle, we've had to hide them indoors every year of his life thus far because all the rain.

This card is definitely all about Easter eggs!  I used all the different egg designs from A Muse Studio's new Sweet Easter set to make my own patterned paper on the stitched rectangle.  The little window with the chick is egg shaped too, using the Stitched Egg dies!  For the blue sky behind the little chick, instead of just using colored paper I did some blue ink with sponge daubers on white cardstock to give it a bit more depth and dimension.  I think even the scalloped paper of the card base takes on a bit of "egg-i-ness" to it when paired with so many other egg shapes!

Stamps: A Muse sweet easter
Ink: A Muse melon, lemon whip, bermuda, grass, and black dye (retired) and VersaFine onyx black
Paper: A Muse melon scallops, sugar, grass petite gingham, and bermuda petite gingham cardstock
Misc.: A Muse grass, sweet easter, tag bundle, and stitched eggs die sets, foam mounting tape, sponge daubers, Copic markers

Easter No. 5

Today's card is all about depth, die cutting, and patterns!  I used a bunch of different patterned papers.  Dots, stripes AND gingham!  Nearly everything in the scene is die cut.  Each layer of grass is die cut from the same large pinking rectangle die, then shortened with the grass edge die and each layer is popped up from the layer behind it with the little bunnies (also die cut) nestled in between.  I love how the whole scene turned out, even if it might be a little too thick to mail, at least without extra postage!

Stamps: A Muse somebunny loves you
Ink: A Muse french roast and lemon whip
Paper: A Muse sugar, lemon whip, reverse dot melon, grass, grass stripes, grass petite gingham, bermuda petite gingham, and bermuda petite pinstripe
Misc.: Foam mounting tape, A Muse somebunny loves you, grass, gift tag trio, and tag bundle die sets, A Muse lemon whip baker's cording, Tim Holtz tiny attacher

Easter No. 4

I loved making this little Easter scene card!  And it was really fun this morning to see it on A Muse Studio's Facebook page!

The spring scene stamp set has tons of individual flora type elements to use.  Blooms, stems, leaves, as well as a bunny and bow!  There are eggs and a wreath too!  I used the largest of the stitched eggs as the white background with the flowers and then die cut a piece of gingham paper in the egg shape as well and then die cut it a second time to give it a grass edge!

Stamps: A Muse sweet easter and spring scene
Ink: A Muse cocoa, bermuda, melon, and lemon whip and VersaFine onyx black
Paper: A Muse bermuda petite pinstripe, bermuda petite dot, melon herringbone, grass petite gingham, and sugar cardstock
Misc.: A Muse tag bundle, grass, stitched eggs, December stories, and spring scene die sets, foam mounting tape, and A Muse bermuda pearl stickers

Easter No. 3

Today, I have this lovely little basket of eggs to share with you!  It's reminding me how SOON Easter really is.  I really should get down those St. Patrick's Day decorations and get up the Easter ones!  (Though with my son's birthday on March 17th, St. Patrick makes a pretty extended stay at our house, but this year is getting a little ridiculous!)

I did a lot of pattern mixing for this card.  There's gingham, stripes, AND scallops!  The pale yellow ribbon is just the right finishing touch to add a little depth to all the various paper layers.

Stamps: A Muse sweet easter
Ink: A Muse french roast, melon, grass, lemon whip, and bermuda
Paper: A Muse bermuda scallops, orange petite pinstripe, grass petite gingham, and sugar cardstock
Misc.: A Muse bermuda pearl stickers, A Muse lemon whip satin ribbon, A Muse sweet easter and chevron pennant die sets, foam mounting tape

Easter No. 2

Today's card just makes me smile!  The prominence of the yellow background just feels SO cheerful!

I used the nesting stitched egg dies again from A Muse Studio's new April release!  I die cut the large egg out of Bermuda petite dot and then used the same die to strategically cut the top and bottom lace pieces out of large paper doilies!  Then, I used one of the smaller egg dies for the vellum egg and white embossed the sentiment on it.  Attaching vellum to things is always tricky since any tape, glue, or other adhesive will show through.  So, I did a strategically placed mini glue dot right at one of the letter "P"s in the word "happy"!

Stamps: A Muse spring scene
Ink: VersaMark
Misc.: A Muse stitched egg die set, A Muse melon satin ribbon, A Muse white embossing powder, foam mounting tape, mini glue dots, A Muse 4 /12" doilies

Easter No. 1

I've got an adorable bunny card today for you, featuring more of A Muse Studio's awesome new April release!  I just love these colors and the super cute new stamps!

For this one, I stamped the bunny twice.  Once on sugar cardstock and die cut it.   The die leaves a nice white outline around the image.  But, I wanted the bunny to have a bit of color to it to soften it's look a little.  I mean, real animals that are white are rarely pure paper white.  So, I stamped it on vanilla cardstock and fussy cut (ok, admission, I let my Silhouette Cameo do the fussy cutting!  It's waaaay more accurate than I am, but you could totally do this with detail scissors) it.  Then, adhered it directly over the bunny on the white cardstock.  This gave me an off white rabbit, but with the nice white outline!

One other note with this card, the melon cardstock was very vibrant underneath the lemon whip satin ribbon.  So, I did a double layer of it.  I'm very glad I did.  It really helps show the yummy creamy color of the ribbon better!  The inside says "Happy Easter"

Stamps: A Muse happy spring and sweet easter (inside) sets
Ink: A Muse grass and melon, and A Muse black dye (retired)
Misc.: A Muse lemon whip satin ribbon, detail scissors (or Silhouette Cameo 3 with PixScan mat), A Muse happy spring and card catalogue die sets, foam mounting tape

April Release Day!

Wahoo! It's here!  Release day for A Muse Studio's April Collection!  To celebrate, I have one of my favorite cards that I made this this collection to share with you.  I used the largest of the nesting stitched egg dies and then just part of the bunny candy package die to make a negative image of the bunny head in the egg.  I popped them up with some foam tape and added the twine and buttons.  The card isn't a standard size, but I think the long and narrow shape of it looks great!

Paper: A Muse sugar, grass stripes, melon scallops, and bermuda petite gingham cardstock
Misc.: A Muse buttercup buttons, A Muse vanilla twine, foam mounting tape, A Muse stitched eggs and bunny candy package dies

Here's the April collection in it's entirety!

New egg and bunny candy package dies:

New washi tape:

Plus new colors of die ink!  Bermuda and Grass! And an assortment of Baker's Cording! There is so much to love!  There's even a new bundle option to save 10% and get it all!
