Harry!

I love all things Harry Potter.  The books, the movies, it's all great.  The Harry Potter cards from the A Muse folks a while back are just the best.  So here's my own version.    It was heavily inspired by this one from Lexi Daly.  I love the brownstone stamp.  I also kept thinking of the scene in Order of the Phoenix about Number 12 Grimmauld Place and how the muggles just thought it an odd quirk that the house numbers went from 11 to 13 because they couldn't see No. 12.  Then, I thought about how in the movie version when Harry is first brought there they show No. 12 sort of popping out between 11 and 13.  So, I tried to make No. 12 really stand out on this card.  After stamping 3 brownstones in a row, I stamped another one and cut it out for No. 12.  I also used a Copic Multiliner to make the lines between each house thicker to show more of a shadow as if it were standing out even more.  Then when it came to coloring the brownstones, 11 and 13 are colored in copics that are at least a shade lighter than the corresponding sections on 12.  It's hard to tell in the picture, but the window on the door of 12 is sparkly from a Spica pen (along with the light int he lampost).  Then Harry himself is mounted with foam tape.

While working on this card, I watched the Order of the Phoenix movie.  It was good motivation to keep working since the card took a while.  But I'd had the idea floating around in my head of the row of brownstones for so long, I was very pleased to see it turn out so well.  And now I'm even more excited for the first part of the Deathly Hallows movie to come out!! LESS THAN A MONTH!
